In accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those promoting good health and well-being and fostering partnerships, the Alumni Office, in collaboration with the Sports Unit at Tishk International University (TIU), successfully organized a football tournament for university graduates. The event aimed to encourage healthy lifestyles, strengthen social bonds, and maintain long-term engagement among alumni.

The tournament brought together over 80 graduates in a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Eight teams competed in a spirit of teamwork, fair play, and friendly competition. Two matches were held each day, culminating in an exciting final on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM, between the Education Graduates and Computer Graduates teams.

The final match was attended by prominent university leaders, including Professor Dr. Sultan T. Abo-Orabi, President of TIU, Dr. Mohammed Abdulghani, Dean of Students, Dr. Aram, Head of the Sports Unit, and Mr. Frsat Abdullah, Head of the Alumni Office. Their presence highlighted the university’s dedication to alumni engagement and overall well-being.

After an intense and spirited match, the Education Graduates claimed the championship, demonstrating strong sportsmanship and resilience. Both finalist teams were celebrated in a special award ceremony that recognized their enthusiasm, collaboration, and commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

This sustainable sports initiative not only promoted physical activity and community spirit but also reflected TIU’s broader mission to support holistic development, inclusiveness, and continuous learning beyond the classroom. Through such events, the university continues to strengthen ties with its alumni, fostering a lasting connection rooted in shared values and mutual support.
