On February 11-12, 2025, the Head of the Sports Unit at Tishk International University organized a chess tournament for students and faculty members. More than 73 participants took part in the competition, which followed the Swiss system with a 10-second increment. The tournament lasted for two days, featuring intense and strategic matches.
The final day of the tournament was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Idris Hadi, the Rector of the University Dr.Sultan T.Abo-Orabi, the Dean of the College of Dentistry Dr. Jafar Naghshbandi, the Dean of Students Dr.Mohammed Abdulghani, and the Head of the Sports Unit Dr.Aram.
After a series of thrilling games, the tournament concluded with the distribution of prizes to the top five winners, marking a successful and memorable event.
Beyond the competition, the tournament fostered sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie, strengthening relationships among students and faculty. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to student engagement beyond academics.
