Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The 10th Career Days event, jointly organized by Tishk International University and Soran University, commenced with an inspiring opening ceremony on May 13, 2025. The event began with warm welcoming remarks from the host, Ms. Yara Arjuman Hashim, who greeted attendees and introduced the ceremony.

The opening was followed by the national anthems of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, setting a respectful tone. Next, promotional videos showcased Tishk International UniversitySoran University, and highlights of 10 years of Career Days, emphasizing the importance of connecting education with the job market.

The official welcome speech was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees at Tishk International University, who expressed appreciation for the strong collaboration between Tishk International University, Soran University, and industry partners in creating meaningful career opportunities for students.

Following was a speech by Prof. Dr. Sultan Abu Orabi, President of Tishk International University, who commended the strategic vision of the Career Development Centers (CDCs) and reaffirmed TIU’s commitment to empowering students and strengthening academic-industry ties across the Kurdistan Region.

Mr. Khattab Shekhany, representing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, then delivered a speech, emphasizing the Ministry’s continued support for initiatives that enhance graduate employability and practical readiness.

On behalf of the Soran Independent AdministrationMr. Hakim Teli, Assistant Supervisor, spoke about the region’s growing potential and the importance of supporting young professionals through collaboration with academic institutions.

Dr. Rizgar Saeed Hussein, Vice President of Soran University, also addressed the audience, highlighting the value of joint efforts in equipping students with the skills and opportunities needed to succeed in today’s job market.

The Ministry of Higher Education’s CDCs Director, Ms. Kochar Azad, delivered a speech focusing on the strategic importance of career guidance services and the future vision of CDCs across Kurdistan.

Ms. Shewa Kamil Shanagar from Pirman Information Technology, the Platinum Sponsor, also shared remarks on the company’s commitment to supporting youth and advancing digital skills.

As part of the event, a Plaque of Appreciation Ceremony was held to honor the main sponsors:
