As part of a region-wide strategic initiative to promote innovation and sustainable development through higher education, Mr. Heersh Omar, Director of the Career Development Center (CDC) at Tishk International University (TIU), participated in a specialized Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop titled “Empowering Students for Entrepreneurial Success.”

Held from August 3–5, 2025, in Erbil, the training was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with the Rwanga Foundation. It brought together CDC Directors and university instructors from across the Kurdistan Region, aiming to strengthen the role of universities in nurturing entrepreneurial thinking among students.

The workshop focused on equipping educators with modern tools and interactive teaching strategies to develop students’ ability to innovate, think critically, and design sustainable business solutions. By enhancing the quality and relevance of education, the program contributes to building more resilient and opportunity-driven academic environments.

This training initiative also supports broader regional efforts to prepare youth for the demands of a changing job market. By fostering entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and self-reliance, universities can play a pivotal role in generating employment opportunities and driving inclusive economic growth.

Through its active participation, TIU demonstrates its strong commitment to aligning education with community needs, economic vitality, and long-term sustainability. This marks a positive step toward integrating entrepreneurship education into university curricula across the Kurdistan Region, preparing students not only to succeed in their careers but also to become contributors to a more innovative and prosperous society.
