On 17 December 2025, Tishk International University (TIU) proudly celebrated Kurdish Flag Day through a vibrant series of cultural and artistic activities. The celebration took place throughout the day and created a warm and inspiring atmosphere on campus, bringing together students, staff, and different university units to honor Kurdish identity, history, and heritage.
The event was organized by the Art Club teachers, Mrs. Khumar Rashid Hamed (Art Supervisor) and Ms. Yusra Wirya Pirbal (Handcraft Supervisor), whose dedication and guidance played a significant role in the success of the activity. The event was coordinated by Ms. Gala Abdullah Ibrahim and Mr. Bokan Asaad Hassan, whose efforts ensured smooth organization, effective communication, and strong collaboration among participants. Their teamwork helped make the celebration both meaningful and well-structured.

Through collaborative artistic work, the students prepared paintings, handmade crafts, decorative pieces, and symbolic artworks inspired by the Kurdish flag and national culture. Each artwork reflected themes of unity, resilience, pride, and hope. The students demonstrated creativity, responsibility, and teamwork while expressing their personal connection to Kurdish heritage.
The preparation process itself was an enriching educational experience. Students worked side by side, exchanged ideas, and supported one another, strengthening both their artistic skills and their sense of belonging to the university community. The activity encouraged leadership, active engagement, and confidence, giving students the opportunity to showcase their talents in a public and respectful environment.
Throughout the day, visitors explored the exhibition and appreciated the students’ efforts and creativity. The celebration highlighted the important role of art in preserving cultural identity and promoting mutual understanding and respect. It also strengthened the spirit of unity within the university, reminding everyone of the value of cultural expression in academic life.
