On December 6 and 7, 2025, the Career Development and Alumni Centers at Tishk International University (TIU) spearheaded a significant three-day virtual symposium in strategic collaboration with the Dahatu Foundation and seven regional universities. This academic initiative served as a landmark event in the Kurdistan Region, focusing on providing local students with the technical tools and insights necessary to access global education.
The activity was organized and facilitated by a distinguished panel of experts, including Dr. Pashew Majeed, Dr. Firmessk Abubakir, Dr. Rekord Sarhang, Mr. Hunar Anwar, Mr. Muhsin Burhan, Mr. Zanyar Osman, Mr. Sarkawt Amin, and Mr. Arman Khalil. Their collective expertise guided participants through the complexities of international academic landscapes, fostering a culture of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all involved.
The primary aim of the symposium was to bridge the gap between local talent and global academic prospects. By providing the Zoom platform and necessary technical infrastructure, Tishk International University (TIU) enabled a collaborative environment where multi-stakeholder partnerships could thrive, strengthening the overall educational framework of the region through collective action with institutions such as Charmo University, University of Sulaimani, Koya University, University of Garmian, Komar University of Science and Technology, Erbil Polytechnic University, and Cihan University-Duhok and Slemani.
Over the course of the three-day duration, the event attracted more than 1,000 applicants, with approximately 250 active participants successfully completing the intensive sessions. The detailed content of the symposium covered essential strategies for navigating scholarship applications and meeting the requirements of prestigious international programs. Those who successfully attended were awarded certificates of participation to mark their commitment to academic advancement.
By empowering students with these global tools, the Alumni and Career Development Center at Tishk International University (TIU) and its partners successfully demonstrated the power of cooperation in achieving high-standard educational goals for the community.
