Tishk International University is pleased to highlight the professional journey of Dr. Zhir Hersh Muharam, a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry, whose career reflects the value of continuous learning, professional development, and dedication.

Dr. Zhir graduated from TIU in 2015–2016 and continued his academic journey by pursuing a Master’s degree in Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry at UIC University in Barcelona, Spain, completing his degree in 2019. In 2021, he established his own dental polyclinic.

His connection with TIU continued beyond graduation. From 2022 to 2024, Dr. Zhir served as an Assistant Lecturer at Tishk International University, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of dental students. Since 2024, he has continued his academic career at the University of Kurdistan Hawler (UKH), where he currently serves as an Assistant Lecturer and Head of the CAD, Research & Innovation Committee.

Alongside his academic and clinical career, Dr. Zhir is the owner of Blanca Dental Care and Blancademy, a dental education initiative through which he has organized and delivered various long- and short-term dental courses.

Reflecting on his experience at TIU, Dr. Zhir emphasized the importance of the university’s clinical training, practical experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities. He noted that the foundation he gained at TIU continues to support his professional work today.

Throughout his journey, Dr. Zhir faced challenges, including adapting to a new language while studying in Spain and developing the business and marketing skills required to establish his own clinic. He overcame these challenges through patience, discipline, consistency, and continuous learning.

For current students, his advice is to develop strong soft skills, build professional networks, and continue working on personal development. He also encourages students to take advantage of the opportunities available to them during their university years.

One of Dr. Zhir’s proudest moments has been returning to the university he graduated from and teaching students, sharing knowledge and experiences he wishes he had gained earlier in his own student journey.

His journey is a meaningful example of how TIU alumni continue to grow as professionals, educators, and entrepreneurs, contributing to their fields and inspiring future generations.
