Tishk International University is pleased to highlight the professional journey of Abdulrahman Salah Muhammad Hanaray, a 2015 graduate of the Law College, whose career reflects patience, continuous learning, and the importance of building strong practical skills.

Since graduating from TIU, Abdulrahman has followed what he describes as a long and difficult journey that required considerable patience. He currently works as a Consultant Lawyer at Naji Law Firm in Erbil, Kurdistan Region. One of his key academic achievements has been obtaining a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law.

Reflecting on his professional development, Abdulrahman emphasizes that practical life can differ significantly from theoretical studies at university. He believes that learning from the experiences of previous lawyers was an important way to overcome this challenge and develop professionally.

Abdulrahman credits the quality of education at TIU with making many aspects of his practical career easier. He particularly highlights periodic research and internship experiences, which played an important role in his career path. His experience conducting research at university also continues to support his professional work.

He also values the study of legal texts and the communication, teamwork, and practical training experiences he gained at TIU. Internships and practical training, in particular, helped him develop skills that he continues to use in his professional life.

For current law students, Abdulrahman advises them to focus on developing a strong legal personality and paying close attention to the fundamental lessons of law. He identifies strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills as essential in the legal profession. He also sees increasing use of legal technology for research and document review as an important industry trend.

Looking back, he would have focused more on practical skills and reading real court cases rather than relying mainly on lecture notes. One of his proudest professional moments has been achieving favorable outcomes in court cases.

His journey is represented by a simple message that reflects his commitment to professional growth:

“Always learning, always evolving.”
