Recognition Ceremony Celebrates Success at Kurdistan Universities Championship
The chess team of Tishk International University achieved a remarkable success by securing second place in the Kurdistan Universities Chess Championship, a two-day tournament held in Duhok. The championship brought together teams from several universities across the Kurdistan Region, creating a highly competitive and engaging sporting atmosphere.
In recognition of this outstanding accomplishment, a special honoring ceremony was held on December 18, 2025, at Tishk International University. During the ceremony, the Dean of Students expressed pride in the team’s performance and highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in enhancing students’ intellectual and strategic skills.
The players, coaches, and the Head of the Sports Unit were formally honored and presented with certificates of appreciation as a gesture of recognition for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment. The Dean also praised the continuous efforts of the Sports Unit in supporting student participation in regional and national competitions.
