The Vice President for Academic Affairs at Tishk International University organized its Annual Meeting on May 17, 2026, in Room 2015, bringing together student faculty representatives from different faculties alongside Mr. Hedi Mustafa, Events and Student Council Coordinator.
The meeting created an open platform for students and university representatives to discuss academic development, student support, research quality, international rankings, and future opportunities for students. Representatives from Dentistry, Applied Science, Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Nursing, FASE, and Education faculties actively participated in the discussions and shared feedback from their faculties.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özdemir, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the importance of student feedback in improving the educational experience and strengthening academic quality across the university. He also discussed the upcoming summer school program and encouraged students to make the best use of academic opportunities during the summer term.
During the meeting, Asst. Prof. Dr. Orhan Tuğ, Director of the Research Center, highlighted the importance of the Research Methodology course and encouraged students to conduct meaningful and high-quality research. He also expressed the university’s continuous support for students who are interested in academic research and innovation.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Samira Saeed, Director of Rankings, presented the latest international achievements of TIU in global university rankings. She explained how academic quality, student engagement, and feedback contribute to strengthening the university’s position both regionally and internationally. The session also highlighted how international recognition can create better academic and career opportunities for students in the future.
The meeting also focused on student well-being and support services. Asst. Prof. Dr. Dara Bana, Head of the Nursing Department, introduced the services provided by the Emergency Center and Welfare Center at TIU, emphasizing the university’s commitment to supporting students academically and personally.
Mrs. Rasha, Director of the Quality Management System, spoke about the importance of professional meeting documentation, effective communication, and constructive feedback. She also explained internship and entrepreneurship requirements and reminded students that third-year students are required to complete these requirements by the end of the summer school period. In addition, she highlighted the importance of accreditation and noted that TIU departments are accredited according to European standards.
Finally, Mrs. Alla, Director of Quality Assurance and Promotions, introduced the 2nd Student Graduation Project Competition, where students will have the opportunity to present their final projects. She emphasized the importance of creativity, innovation, and maintaining high academic quality in graduation projects.
The meeting reflected Tishk International University’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, research development, and creating a supportive educational environment for all students.
