The Kurdistan University Chess Championship was successfully held in Duhok, bringing together participants from ten governmental and non-governmental universities. The two-day tournament took place on November 22–23, 2025 under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Participating universities included: Salahaddin University –, University of Sulaimani, University of Duhok, University of Zakho, Erbil Medical University, Erbil Polytechnic University, Duhok Polytechnic University, Tishk International University, Komar University, Knowledge University, and Cihan University.
